End of Life Planning with Heart
One of my biggest passions is end of life planning, because I’ve seen the distress families experience when there’s no plan in place.
My heartfelt promise to you talking about death won’t make it happen any sooner.
That’s why I host monthly Death Curious Conversations, relaxed and open community gatherings where we discuss death, dying, grief, legacy, planning, and everything in between. Held in two locations – Rookwood Cemetery (East St entrance) and the Little BIG House in Summer Hill – these conversations aim to build death literacy in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Funerals that include your pets
I am a devoted animal lover and my days are happily shared with two delightful Tibetan Terriers.
- Molly, my gentle and sweet 14 year old, is the ultimate sunbather and cuddle queen.
- Georgie, my sassy and very chatty 5 year old, is my dedicated office sidekick, meticulously supervising my every move and ensuring we stick to our sacred walk and play schedule!
My long term dream is to acquire a spacious property that can offer temporary or permanent homes to dogs in need, because no animal should face euthanasia simply because they are without a home. Just as humans deserve dignity, so do our four legged companions. This conviction extends to my work. I believe dogs are family and actively encourage their inclusion in ceremonies and funerals. Let’s explore creative ways to involve your beloved furry friends in your life’s most meaningful farewells and celebrations.
About Me
When I’m not being lovingly bossed around by Molly and Georgie, I cherish travelling with my husband, Brad. I’ve always been an intrepid explorer, finding immense joy in discovering new places, both across Australia and overseas.
Each year, Brad and I embark on a cherished road trip from Sydney to Melbourne, opting for the scenic route through charming small country towns. One of my favourite pastimes on these adventures is meeting all the local dogs and rummaging through vintage shops for unique treasures. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy quality time together, relax, explore, and, of course, savour a glass of Riesling or champagne with a delicious charcuterie board. And, naturally, we cheer on Collingwood as they (hopefully!) secure another win at the MCG!
Brad and I have been married for almost 13 years. He is my biggest supporter and cheerleader, always delighting me with my favourite dinners and breakfasts – he is an excellent cook!
And just for a bit of fun, my favourite TV series is “The Casketeers”, it’s so endearing and insightful. My favourite movie is When Harry Met Sally. Seriously, the best dialogue EVER.
FAQs
Understanding Funeral Services
in Australia
What is the difference between a Funeral Director and a Funeral Celebrant?
A funeral director manages the practical, legal and logistical aspects (transport, body care, paperwork, etc.), while a funeral celebrant leads the ceremony itself, helping craft a meaningful tribute. I offer both services in one, creating a seamless and personal experience.
Do Funeral Directors do embalming?
No Funeral Directors do not actually do embalming. This is skilled work that is done by a mortician. Embalming is not always necessary or required. I’ll walk you through what’s appropriate and aligned with your wishes.
Do you need to have a Funeral Director?
Legally, no but it can be overwhelming to manage everything alone. Having a compassionate Sydney Funeral Director means guidance, support and peace of mind during a difficult time.
How to choose a Funeral Director?
Choose a funeral director who treats death with care, families with kindness and the person who died with dignity. Professionalism and skill matters but humanity matters more.
How much does a funeral service cost in Australia?
Prices vary depending on your needs.
What not to talk about at a funeral?
Avoid gossip, personal disputes, or anything disrespectful. Funerals are sacred spaces for remembrance, connection and healing.
Can pets be included in funerals?
Absolutely. As a pet loving funeral director and celebrant, I encourage you to include your furry family members. From attendance to symbolic gestures, there are many beautiful ways to honour these special bond.
Let’s Talk About Life, Death, Dogs and Everything In Between
Whether you’re here to plan a ceremony, explore your options, or chat about death over coffee – I’d love to meet you. Planning brings peace. Remembering life brings healing.
And if it all gets a little too heavy… we can always talk about dogs.
